Michael was born c.1880* in Longford. 

Pte Feeney first enlisted with the Leinster Regiment Reserve in 1908. During the Great War he served in France up to 1916, when he was discharged on medical grounds.

Notes: One attestment gives 6 January 1878 as his birth date.
