Edward was born c.1887 in Kenagh.

He enlisted in Longford and was killed in action in Gallipoli, possibly as a result of actions at Olive Grove, as no casualties are noted in the Regimental Diary for the day of his death. His sister Mary was noted as his next-of-kin.

Parents Names: Son of John and Margaret McCormack of Kenagh.
Notes: McCormack was one of two Longford men in the RIR who died at Gallipoli on this day, Pte John Cullen of Edgeworthstown was the other.
