Terence was born in 3 September 1896* in Longford. He moved to New York in May 1914 sailing on the S.S. Campania, and was resident in Brooklyn prior to the war.

He enlisted with the New York Natonal Guard in August 1917, also known as the Rainbow Division; he served overseas from the 29 October 1917 until his death during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive
