| Information: | Patrick (aka Paddy) was born in Longford, around 1886; his father was a tailor.
Patrick served with both the Leinster Regiment and Connaught Rangers. It is believed that he enlisted with the Leinster Regiment in Feb 1908. With the Connaught Rangers, Patrick entered war service in France on the 26 Sept 1914; he was wounded on 25 Nov 1915, and was entitled to wear a wound stripe as a result. After the Great War, Patrick returned to Longford and lived at Templemichael Terrace and Great Water Street. He married Bridget McVenea on 29 Aug 1919. He worked as a labourer for Matthew Nevin, General Merchant. In the 1940s he travelled to Scotland to secure work, and died there on the 17 Jan 1943. Bridget, maintained an annual In Memoriam notice in the Longford Leader for many years after his death, before her own death in Aug 1963.
